The jewel of the Costa Blanca

Gran Folies, Mallorca

Jávea is one of the most beautiful places on the Costa Blanca for an individual holiday. This is due to the total absence of big hotel-skyscrapers and the mass tourism industry.

Jávea’s infrastructure has been undergoing significant expansion and improvement work, but the local government has restricted the height and types of new buildings and thus helps to retain much of the town's character. Many new estates of villas have been built in the wooded hills around the bay whilst apartment complexes are being constructed along the coastal strip between the port and the Arenal. The plain remains largely untouched and the groves still produce crops of oranges.

The 25 km long bay between the Cap de Sant Antoni to the north and the Cap de la Nau in the south. The coastline is constantly changing from small coves to wide beaches. North of Jávea, in the botanical sanctuary in the region of Valencia stands 753 m high Montgó mountain. Flat agricultural land stretches for miles inland, cut by small streams and used primarily for growing citrus and olive trees.

According to the World health organization Jávea has one of the healthiest climates in the world. It enjoys more hours of sun than any other place in Spain, making it a popular destination for Northern Europeans during the cold winter months. On a clear day, the Balearic island of Ibiza can be seen quite clearly.

The town

There are three different sections in Javea on the Costa Blanca in Spain. The 'Old town', considered the original Javea, with its narrow streets. Then there is the port area with luxury yachts alongside fishing boats and delightful street cafes. The third section is the Arenal beach.

The beautiful, sandy "Playa Arenal" is planted with palm trees and has play areas for children. The bay is fringed by the promenade with its wonderful choice of bars and restaurants offering national and international specialties. Interesting shops and boutiques abound.

Apart from this you can discover many beautiful natural bays and beaches, like "La Granadella", "La Barraca", "Ambolo", "Cala Blanca" and many more.

Port & Yachting

Javea has one of the most attractive marinas along the Mediterranean, due both to its location and to its unsurpassed fishing and sports installations. The modern Yacht Club at the sports marina has nearly 300 berths and facilities for all types of water sports, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, water skiing, windsurfing etc.

Golf & Sport

Just outside of the town, surrounded by pines and orange groves, the Javea Golf Club offers a pleasant setting for golfers.

Javea Golf Club

There are several other golf courses within easy access of Javea. A number of sports clubs and associations in the area promote tennis, horse-riding and even shooting.

How to get here

Javea is situated with the same distance to two airports, Alicante and Valencia, about 1 hours drive.
